Questions concerning vaccination

The following vaccination centres of the City of Vienna require prior appointment:

  • “Town Town Impfservice” vaccination centre of the Public Health Services of the City of Vienna

Making an appointment for a district health centre is currently not yet possible. Regarding all other vaccination providers, please refer to the respective vaccination provider.

Yes. Cancel your old appointment and book a new appointment.

This will be decided by the doctor on site. If you are running a high fever, you should postpone your vaccination.

Up to 5 persons can be vaccinated at one vaccination appointment. You need to book more appointments if there are more persons than 5. When making the booking, please state all persons that are to be vaccinated.

For every vaccination, information about potential side effects is available.

This is hard to say. Please be on time for your appointment and take all required documents with you: e-card, photo ID, Certificate of Vaccination, vaccination titre tests (if available); if you plan a trip, also bring information about the travel itinerary. Before the vaccination, you need to fill in a questionnaire on site; please also budget sufficient time for this (10 minutes are recommended).

Please try to be there 10 minutes before your appointment to leave enough time to fill in the vaccination questionnaire.

Avoid physical exertion on the day of vaccination. After the vaccination, also avoid intensive sports activities (competitive sports, intensive endurance training), sauna use as well as anything that puts massive strain on the body for 1 week. Profuse sweating and intensive sports activities can weaken the effect of vaccination. However, children and young people may participate in gym lessons at school and adults may engage in moderate sports activities.

At the “Town Town Impfservice” vaccination centre of the Public Health Services of the City of Vienna (Thomas-Klestil-Platz 8/2, 1030 Wien), you can pay with a payment form or by online banking. For all other vaccination centres, please inquire about payment options beforehand. Please also note that Klinik Favoriten does not accept payment in cash.

Yes. You need no medical insurance for the vaccinations at the vaccination centres operated by the City of Vienna.

There is no deductible for vaccinations at the vaccination centres operated by the City of Vienna. There are free-of-charge vaccinations covered by the child vaccination programme as well as vaccinations that must be paid for.

Vaccinations covered by the free-of-charge child vaccination programme as well as the measles-mumps-rubella vaccination for all age groups are free of charge at the vaccination centres operated by the City of Vienna and at doctor’s surgeries participating in the child vaccination programme.

For all other vaccinations, a vaccination fee and a consultancy fee may be charged, depending on the vaccination provider. The costs will be specified by the respect vaccination provider. The prices charged by the district health centres and by the “Town Town Impfservice” vaccination centre already comprise the costs of the vaccination and the related consultancy fee. Please note that Klinik Favoriten does not accept payment in cash.

Talk to your attending doctor and clarify which vaccinations are possible, necessary and useful for you.
